Q : What is RoutCad used for ?
A : RoutCad is used to design custom : shapes, contours, and 3D objects.

Q : What is RoutCad ?
A : RoutCad is an easy to use CAD software that enables you to precisely design the geometry of your choice by combinining basics drawing elements : points, lines, arcs, and parabolas to design the desired contour , shapes, and 3D objects.

Q : What is CAD ?
A : Computer Aided Design.

Q : How are the shapes, contours, and 3D objects created ?
A : You use RoutCad to design and trasnmit your design. An automated router system performs the machining to create your custom shapes, contours, and 3D objects.

Q : How is the design transmitted ?
A : You use RoutCad to transmit your design and make payment. Your design is transmitted using TCP/IP protocol. Your PC need to be connected to the internet in order to use the "Transmit" option of RoutCad. Alternatively, you can send us your design by e-mail or regular mail with a 3 1/2" diskette. Prior to sending your design by e-mail or mail, please contact us to make payment arrangement.

Q : How do I make payments for my contour, shapes, or 3D objects ?
A : RoutCad has a feature that allows you to calculate the cost of your design. You fill in your personal information, select a payment method and transmit the information. Your design and personal information are encrypted by RoutCad. Shipping and handling is not included in the cost and will be added to your credit card. Q : How does the cost is computed ?
A : The cost is function of the material you've selected, the work area and the complexity of your design. Note that when you create a geometry that is a contour, the geometry can not be separated from the support material, therefore the cost that will be charge will be for the whole sheet and you will receive the whole sheet with your contour.

Q : What materials are available ?
A : Using RoutCad you can select aluminum, plastic, plywood. For any other material, or thickness, please contact us.

Q : What is a shape ?
A : A shape is a geometry that can be separated from the support material.

Q : What is a contour ?
A : A contour is a geometry that can not be separated from the support material.

Q : What is a 3D object ?
A : A 3D object is a combination of shapes and or contours.

Q : What does CAD mean ?
A : Computer Aided Design.

Q : What is the precision of the machining ?
A : Better than 1/100". Note : except at the location, where the geometry is disconnecting from the support material i.e. at the last routing sequence.

Q : What is the delivery time ?
A : From the reception of payment, you have to give 5 busines days for machining and 10 business days for delivery. Note : an additional 10 business days is required if the material or colour you've selected is out of stock. Please contact us to inquire about material or colour availability.
