Cover Plate Selection Process Details
You select the units of measurement that you prefer; inch (in) or centimeter (cm).

You accurately measure (within +-1/8" or +-0.25cm) the dimensions of the hole that you would like to cover. For a rectangular hole, you measure the width and height of the hole. For a circular hole, you measure the hole diameter.

You accurately measure the thickness (within +-1/32" or +-0.1cm) of the wall material.

You ensure that there is enough clearance "empty space" inside the hole to fit the retaining bracket which holds the cover Plate flat against the wall (4" or 10cm of clearance "empty space" is required from the edge of the hole toward the inside of the hole along the direction of the holding bracket and 2" or 5cm of clearance is required from the hole surface toward the inside of the hole along the direction perpendicular to the Cover Plate).

You select the orientation of the holding bracket. The holding bracket can be placed along (in the direction of) the Cover Plate width dimension or along (in the direction of) the Cover Plate height dimension. For improved holding force it is recommended to place the holding bracket along the longest lenght (unless there is something that might obstruct the holding bracket inside the wall in that direction).
Note : For circular Cover Plate there is no bracket direction.

You select the bracket offset. For certain specific size of square or rectancular Cover Plate, the holding bracket is placed in the middle of the Cover Plate along the direction you've specified. For improved holding force, it is recommend not to offset the holding bracket. However, when there is an obstruction located right behind the Cover Plate, offsetting the Cover Plate bracket might clear the obstacle. When offset is selected (if the bracket size and design allows it), the bracket is placed as closed to the hole edge as possible.
Warning : Depending on the nature of the obstruction, offseting the holding bracket might not clear the obstruction and allow the holding bracket to be normally inserted into the hole. Specially if the obstruction is large. The offseted bracket is intented to clear an obstruction of relatively small dimension (no bigger than 1/2 of the smallest Cover Plate hole dimension).

You optionally select a feature to be added to your Cover Plate. The feature can be one of the following : RCA (audio/video), hole, hole with groove, ethernet (RJ45), cable plug (CAOX), phone plug. When you select a feature your Cover Plate will be made specifically for the feature you've selected and the plug/coupler (ethernet coupler, cable coupler, phone outlet, RCA coupler) will be inserted on the Cover Plate. A maximum of 4 features can be added to your Cover Plate (if the Cover Plate size permits it).
Note : The hole diameter is selectable up to a maxium diameter which is function of the Cover Plate dimension. The number of RCA couplers is selectable up to a maximum of 5 RCA couplers for a feature.
Caution : The Cover Plate is not intended to be used with high voltage or high current electrical cables.
