Holding Bracket Installed Along Width
Holding Bracket Installed Along Height

Obstruction in the Wall (in the center of the hole)
Obstruction in the Wall (along the edge of the hole)
The holding bracket installed along the width is the default installation location for the retaining bracket.
When the holding bracket is installed along the longest lenght, it provides the best holding force for the Cover Plate. If the width is
the longest length and there is no obstruction on the rear of the wall where the holding bracket makes contact with the back side of the wall,
it is recommended to instaled the holding bracket along the width. If there is something inside the wall that is obstructing the installation
of the holding bracket along the width, it is recommended to install the holding bracket along the height; when it is possible.
The holding bracket installed along the height is the second option for the installation location of the retaining bracket.
When the holding bracket is installed along the longest lenght, it provides the best holding force for the Cover Plate. If the height is
the longest length and there is no obstruction on the rear of the wall where the holding bracket makes contact with the back side of the wall,
it is recommended to instaled the holding bracket along the height. If there is something inside the wall that is obstructing the installation
of the holding bracket along the height, it is recommended to install the holding bracket along the width; when it is possible.
For Cover Plate of relatively small dimensions, the holding bracket can be offseted from the center. This can be usefull
when there is an obstruction inside the hole located directly behind and near the center of the Cover Plate. After installation
the offseted holding bracket clears the obstacle that would have otherwise made interference with the retaining bracket. The offseted
bracket is intented to clear an obstruction of relatively small dimension (no bigger than 1/2 of the smallest Cover Plate hole dimension).
This picture shows an obstruction (a water main valve) that is located directly behind the hole in its center. In this case it is recommended to offset
the holding bracket, such that after installing the Cover Plate, the holding bracket will clear the water main valve.
This picture shows a solid piece of wood located inside the wall running along the width of the hole near one of its edge. If the holding bracket is placed
along the height, it will interfere with the wood inside the hole, since the holding bracket will be vertical. On the other hand, if the holding bracket is located
along the width of the hole, there will be no interference problem. Please ensure that there is no obstruction inside the hole, where the holding bracket will
make contact with the wall. When the holding bracket is located along the width, it will make contact with the vertical edges of the hole. When the holding
bracket is located along the height, it will make contact with the horizontal edges of the wall.
